You can support us…

  • By becoming a volunteer.
    • We are all, to a greater or lesser extent, also volunteers and need more help. Every month we organize “ajudadas”, moments of work on the farm, but also of conviviality and exchange of knowledge. Your participation in these events is a way to enjoy what we have to offer to the community and also to support us. Follow our social networks to be aware of upcoming dates. To volunteer at the School send an email to correiodobea@gmail.com.
    • We also receive long-term volunteers in partnership with the European Solidarity Corps volunteer program and with Descalças Cooperative. Click here to find out if the selection process is currently open.
  • By making a donation.
  • By Spreading this message and the project.

To be a volunteer in the BEA project is ….

To be part of an innovative educational project, where the child is at the centre of its learning and where the adult is seen as a companion, someone who supports and strengthens this process.

Each person who is part of the BEA project contributes their knowledge and tools from their personal and professional experiences.
The Bosque Escola Avelãs project is a project made by and for the community.
By being a volunteer in this project, you are contributing to the growth not only of this project and of the children who participate in it but also of those
who are to come.
By empowering children and their development we believe we are contributing to the development of the whole community, to the care of the planet and to the change we want to see.
planet and to the change we want to see in the world.

Areas of volunteering

Artistic and sporting activities

If you would like to organise activities with our children, you can propose them to our pedagogical team on an occasional or regular basis.
or on a regular basis!
We also accept proposals.
We are mainly looking for proposals for the afternoon timetable, from 14:00 to 16:30.

Kitchen
Another of BEA’s very important areas where we need help is in our kitchen.
Operating as an Ethical Social Canteen, this canteen provides ethical and healthy meals for our children.
Your help is precious and welcome. The hours vary between 10am and 3pm.

Maintenance/cleaning of the woods

Being a Forest School, the BEA project always needs some maintenance of the areas where our activities take place.
Depending on the time of the year there are also other tasks related to picking fruit in the woods of Quinta das Avelãs.

Do you have another proposal that does not fit into this theme?
Send it to us and we will try to make it possible!
